Spring Cleaning for Your Skin
Spring cleaning isn’t only about cleaning out your closet and garage. Cold and dry winter air can leave your skin feeling itchy and looking dull. Treat your skin with these tips and get glowing this spring!
1. Clean up your beauty stash! Throw away any products that are over 9 months old. They could be harboring harmful bacteria and you don’t want to be putting that on your skin!
2. Exfoliate! Slough away dead dry skin with a good loofah, sugar scrub, or a handcrafted exfoliating bar soap.
3. Moisturize with simple, lightweight oils. Grapeseed oil and sweet almond oil are readily available and are great for moisturizing your body and face and don’t contain any of the stuff your skin doesn’t need!
4. Avoid parabens and phthalates. Parabens are widely used in cosmetics to prevent bacteria growth but recent studies have shown a link to estrogen disruption. Phthalates are used as a plasticizer in cosmetic products and can be found in some fragrances. Don’t worry. All of our Prairie Dust soap is paraben and phthalate free!
